Prince Harry might go to Yale, but hes not the brightest bulb in the chandelier

I’ve always believed that Prince Harry is more like his mother. People always wanted to believe that William was more like Diana, but it’s Harry. Diana was famously NOT book-smart, but she was a hard worker and she always had a great deal of emotional intelligence and she authentically cared about people. Harry is like that. So, there’s a totally random rumor going around and I have no idea why anyone thought it would be a good idea to “float” this idea. Page Six says there are rumors that Harry will enroll at Yale Law School. Um? No.

Star-struck students at Yale University are in a tizzy over the rumor that Prince Harry is coming to New Haven, Conn., to matriculate at Yale Law School.

“Everyone was talking about it around the campus. Big buzz!” one alumnus told me.

But experts on the Windsors were skeptical.

“I doubt it,” royal-watcher Richard Mineards said. “Harry’s not the brightest bulb in the palace chandelier. His entry exam for Eton [boarding school] was delayed because he wasn’t considered up to taking it.”

Another Brit recalled the allegations that “Harry famously got his teacher to do the written element of his A1 Level exam at Eton.”

Harry, who excelled at polo and rugby, graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before becoming a helicopter pilot and serving two tours of duty in Afghanistan. But my source said, “That’s not an academic degree. That just means you can march neatly, follow orders and polish your boots.”

Harry, fifth in line of succession to the throne, might want to come to Yale to find a bride. At 31, having dated a string of nubile maidens, he’s under pressure to settle down, and could be ready to give American women a chance. Sources said former British PM Tony Blair, who briefly lectured at Yale starting in 2008, could smooth the admissions process, as he did in 2006 for his own son, Euan Blair, who even got a $92,000 scholarship.

“Yale would be over the moon to get Harry as a student,” one insider said. “Imagine the kind of fundraising they could do.”

[From Page Six]

The absolute last thing Harry should do is enroll in some multi-year graduate program in America. I mean, I love Harry and I would love it if he came to America for months or years at a time, just as I would love it if he ended up marrying an American. But it’s not going to happen. Especially this year, when the Queen has made it clear that she’s going to start passing down more work to the younger royals whether they like it or not. As for Harry’s lack of book-smarts… it’s true. Much like his mother, Harry never really took to formal education. But like his mom, he’s got charm and emotional intelligence.

Obviously, Kensington Palace has already said that this rumor is false too. But it is fun to think of Harry with some American co-eds.
