Sydney rapper Chillinit winds back comments on Lockdown, Gladys Berejiklian

Sydney rapper Blake James Turnell has changed his tune after an expletive-laden rant against Premier Gladys Berejiklian, following calls from his management.

Mr Turnell, who goes by ChillinIT, threw a tantrum on Wednesday posting a series of videos on his Instagram related to Sydney’s lockdown and the premier.

“Gladys, you big-nosed f**k, please wake up,“ he said.

“Whether Covid’s real, not, I don’t know, I’m not a doctor, but all I do know, is just end this lockdown and let the people keep f**king living.”

During the series of angry posts, he complained about not being able to finish his third album, tensions with his girlfriend and not being able to see his family.

However, he changed his tone when he posted a video on Thursday morning in which he said he wanted to “re-word” some of his earlier statements after speaking to his management and police.

“One, I am not inciting violence, I am not inciting a protest. Do not go do that again,” he said.

“Secondly, all I am trying to say is freedom is important. Wizard of Snoz (Berejiklian) listen to me, walk with the people. All I want to see is … we need to let people live, let people smile, we need to ease these lockdown laws.”

NSW Police were contacted by news.com.au and said that no officers had contacted Mr Turnell about his posts.

A NSW Police spokesman said they could see “nothing to suggest” officers had contacted the rapper.
