USC at Oregon line, prediction, odds: Caleb Williams, Bo Nix square off in Eugene

Oregon will look to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive when the Ducks host USC. The Ducks are huge favorites over a reeling USC team.

It feels as if USC’s season came to an end when it lost to Washington at home last week. We all saw the clip of potential first overall draft pick Caleb Williams being consoled by his mom in the stands after the game. It was raining in Southern California. Here is a secret: it’s not over. No one is mentioning that a victory over the Ducks would put USC right back in the thick of the Pac-12 race. You may think that would be hard to do considering the circumstances but the Trojans still have an elite quarterback.

Oregon has its own Heisman-worthy quarterback in Bo Nix. Nix is completing 78 percent of his passes, while tallying 25 touchdowns against only two interceptions on the season. The Ducks have scored at least 33 points in every game so far.

The Trojans have a bad defense, one that has allowed more than 40 points in five of the last six games. It got so bad that Trojan defensive coordinator Alex Grinch was fired earlier this week. Bad defenses don’t typically get better in conference road games.

The Trojans also have Williams though. The hardest thing to do in sports betting is to forget what you just saw the previous week. That’s why it’s best to fade the public. If any quarterback in the country could go into Eugene and come out with victory, it’s Williams.
